Unfortunately the current fire risk in Woodhill Forest has reached VERY EXTREME and we have been instructed to close the park over Waitangi weekend (Saturday 5th – Monday 7th February). This is the first time in our 18 year history that the fire danger has resulted in a forced closure and while this decision is extremely disappointing it�s based around the ability to safely evacuate the forest in the event of a forest fire, which would spread rapidly under the current conditions. Conditions will be re-assessed Tuesday 8th and hopefully we�ve received some rain by then so we can reopen the park.
